Henne Obtains a Not Guilty Verdict In High-Stakes Criminal Jury Trial
Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Partner Brett M. Henne, on behalf of Advocate, obtained a defense verdict for a nurse following a criminal jury trial in the Circuit Court of Lake County, Illinois.
In this case, the Defendant, a Nurse employed By Advocate Condell Medical Center, was charged criminally with Battery to a patient. It was alleged that the nurse battered and assaulted a patient she was taking care of on the floor.
At trial, Henne addressed many inconsistencies in the prosecution’s case and impeached the complaining witness with prior statements made to the responding police officer.
The jury returned a verdict of not guilty for the defendant. The case was tried before Judge Ari Fisz.
