Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Joins Mansfield Rule Certification Process, Expanding Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Efforts

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP is pleased to announce its participation in the Mansfield Rule certification process. The firm remains committed to continuously building and maintaining an inclusive, diverse workforce.

The 12-month program is designed to increase diversity and expand the pool of candidates considered for entry-level and lateral attorney positions, leadership roles, equity partner promotions, and client connections within the firm. It involves pursuing specific and measurable objectives to help highlight qualified women, racially and ethnically diverse, disabled, and members of the LGBTQ+ community and professionals who might otherwise go unnoticed for consideration. The process also encourages law firms to build a pipeline of qualified candidates for future consideration.

"Our aim is to continue our commitment for Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP to reflect the diversity of the clients and the communities we serve, as well as the diversity of the judges, jurors, and other members of the legal community at large.  We look forward to continuing to support a culture of mutual respect while promoting the work of equity, equality, opportunity, and justice,” Managing Partner, A. Jay Koehler said.

The Mansfield Rule is administered by the Diversity Lab, an incubator for innovative ideas and solutions that boost diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. The Mansfield Rule was named after Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to practice law in the United States. Learn more about Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Rule here.
