Thevatheril and Kramer to Present at Medical Professional Liability Association's Claims Defense Forum

Partners Aiju C. Thevatheril and Daniel P. Kramer will present “Reigning in Non-Economic Damage Claims,” at the Medical Professional Liability Association’s 2023 Claims Defense Forum on May 17 in New Orleans, LA.

Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of how to address public, and especially jurors', perceptions of appropriate damages, and how to raise the damage issue in court without conceding negligence.

Other session topics include connecting with the modern jury, working with CANDOR programs, countering life care plans and more.

Aiju C. Thevatheril focuses his practice in medical negligence and catastrophic injury defense claims. He represents hospitals and healthcare providers in cases involving professional negligence and hastried numerous high-exposure cases to verdict, including many involving birth trauma, neonatal and pediatric injury, death and neurological injury. Daniel P. Kramer is a partner at the firm's Chicago office. For nearly two decades, Dan’s practice has focused on the defense of hospitals, physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers in professional negligence litigation. He has also practiced extensively in construction, automotive and general liability matters. Dan has successfully represented his clients at trial and in other alternative dispute resolution forums throughout Illinois. In addition, Dan regularly presents on topics of interest to various legal and professional organizations. Dan is currently serving as vice-chair of the firm’s Medical Negligence and Healthcare Practice Group and is a member of the firm’s Associate Education Committee.
