Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP to host "Music Law 101" Presented by Lawyers for the Creative Arts

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP will host “Music Law 101”, a panel discussion and happy hour presented by the Lawyers for the Creative Arts (LCA) on April 24, 2025, from 5-7 PM.

The CLE-eligible event will feature firm associate and LCA Vice President Mark J. McLoughlin who will be joined by fellow LCA Associate Board member Odell Mitchell III and Recording Academy Governor Melody Angel. Designed for both attorneys and artists, these panelists will cover music industry fundamentals, including copyright for sound recordings and compositions, revenue streams for musicians, common agreements in the industry and practical legal tips.

Lawyers for the Creative Arts (LCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing legal assistance to artists and arts communities that are financially unable to retain legal counsel. LCA conducts workshops on not-for-profit incorporation and tax exemption, seminars on the law of music, publishing, film, copyright, and mentors’ young attorneys. Mark J. McLoughlin is an associate at Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP, specializing in Entertainment and Media Law and Intellectual Property.
