SMB Recognized for “Outstanding Defense Verdict in a Medical Malpractice Case”

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP attorneys Aiju C. Thevatheril, Elizabeth A. Bruer and Jessica A. Levitt received a Trial Lawyer Excellence Award at this month’s Jury Verdict Reporter Awards.

The trio were honored with “Outstanding Defense Verdict in a Medical Malpractice Case” for their defense of a Chicago-area medical center in a catastrophic birth trauma case earlier this year. The plaintiff’s attorney asked for $77-$85 million before the jury returned with a not guilty verdict.
