Patrick F. Russell

Biography

Patrick is an associate at the firm’s Chicago office. He concentrates his practice in general civil litigation with a special interest in representing physicians, nurses, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals in medical negligence cases. Additionally, he represents businesses in general tort, premises, product liability, and commercial litigation work.

Patrick has obtained favorable results in all phases of litigation, from pre-suit disputes through trial and appeal, and has practiced in several jurisdictions across the United States. Prior to joining Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP, Patrick was a litigation associate at a medical malpractice defense boutique, defending physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers. He also worked at a business law boutique representing businesses in a variety of litigation disputes, including contract/asset-purchase claims, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, trade secret misappropriation matters and other business torts. Before private practice, Patrick was an Assistant State’s Attorney General in the Civil Division for four years, defending the Cook County Sheriff and Cook County in tort and civil rights actions before Illinois State and Federal courts, as well as prevailing on multiple appeals before the Seventh Circuit.
