Professional Licensing

Professional Licensing

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP’s attorneys have substantial experience representing professionals in licensure proceedings before various administrative and governmental agencies. This work includes assisting professionals in obtaining their licenses, defending against proceedings to suspend or revoke a license and providing counsel during governmental investigations. Our attorneys regularly represent clients before the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and the Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission.

Our firm’s professional licensing work has included the representation of attorneys, physicians, chiropractors, dentists, optometrists, pharmacists, other allied healthcare providers, real estate and construction professionals, architects and others.

Our lawyers understand there is nothing more fundamental than preserving one’s livelihood. We understand the personal and professional toll that oftentimes results from a complaint against one’s license. We therefore strive to efficiently resolve these types of claims through creative solutions, familiarity with the administrative hearing process and developing good working relationships with our opponents. However, we also understand sometimes litigation is necessary and are not hesitant to proceed to a formal administrative hearing or appeal when the stakes warrant it.
