Retired Jerseyville Judge Joins Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP as Partner
Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP announces the arrival of the Hon. Eric S. Pistorius (ret.) as a partner in the firm’s Madison County, Illinois office where he focuses on arbitration and mediation.Pistorius is a retired resident judge of the Seventh Circuit in Jersey County, Illinois. He served on the bench for 15 years after being appointed in 2005. In this role he presided over jury trials involving complex civil litigation matters such as dram shop, medical negligence and other personal injury and cases in four different Illinois counties.
Prior to joining the bench, Pistorius worked in private practice for over 20 years, building an extensive trial practice where he focused on insurance defense work and represented clients in criminal jury trials.
Pistorius received his J.D. in 1984 from Southern Illinois University School of Law and his B.A. in 1981 from Western Illinois University.
