Charles and Harris Participate in Kimball R. and Karen Gatsis Anderson Center for Advocacy and Professionalism Fall 2024 Symposium

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP associates Rebecca Charles and Kennedy A. Harris participated in the Kimball R. and Karen Gatsis Anderson Center for Advocacy and Professionalism Fall Symposium on November 8, 2024.

The Symposium titled “What It Takes to Be a Trial Lawyer if You’re Not a Man” examines the historical and current impacts of gender discrimination, biased stereotypes, and the lack of access to mentorship and opportunities faced by female trial lawyers. The gathering united trial lawyers from different generations and levels of experience, along with judiciary members and academics, to explore possible solutions. The emphasis was on improving judicial leadership, mentorship, allyship, training, and expanding opportunities for female advocates.

The Kimball R. and Karen Gatsis Anderson Center for Advocacy and Professionalism at the University of Illinois offers excellent advocacy training while emphasizing the importance of professional responsibility in legal practice. Learn more about the Trial Advocacy Program: The Anderson Center.
