Christy J. Benton


Christy J. Benton is a partner at Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP. She has been defending tort claims in a variety of areas for nearly 25 years, including asbestos, latex, benzene and other toxic tort litigation, personal injury, product liability, medical and dental malpractice, medical device, defense of municipalities, and civil rights litigation. Over the years, Christy has served as national coordinating counsel, as well as local counsel, for a variety of companies and has counseled clients and managed litigation in over 40 states.

Christy joined Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP after serving as Associate General Counsel of Litigation at a $1.2 billion international industrial and manufacturing company; in asbestos/legal claims at a major insurance company and in private practice in Chicago for 10 years prior to her in-house work. Christy’s diverse experience gives her a unique perspective and a better understanding of what her clients need and want.
