Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Obtains Five Defense Verdicts in 25 Days

In a span of 25 days from late April to late May 2018, Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP attorneys obtained five defense verdicts at trial on behalf of clients in five Medical Negligence and Healthcare cases in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.

The stretch began Monday, April 30, when partner Aiju C. Thevatheril and associate Jessica A. Levitt obtained a not guilty verdict on behalf of client, a cardiovascular surgeon. The plaintiff asked for $3 million.

Two days later on Wednesday, May 2, partner Brett M. Henne and associate Justin M. Hansen received a not guilty verdict on behalf of their client, an anesthesiologist. The plaintiff asked for $900,000.

The following day on Thursday, May 3, partners Patricia S. Kocour and Elizabeth A. Bruer received a not guilty verdict on behalf of their Chicago-area hospital client. The plaintiff asked for $6 to $11 million.

A week later on Thursday, May 10, Thevatheril and associate Ryan C. Evans obtained a not guilty verdict on behalf of their clients, two obstetrician and gynecologists. The plaintiff asked for $27.5 million.

The stretch ended with a not guilty verdict for partner Timothy G. Nickels and associate Andrew J. Albright on Thursday, May 24, on behalf of their client, a radiologist. The plaintiff asked for $4.75 million.
