Wahl Receives Rising Star Award at IDC Awards Reception

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Associate Michelle M. Wahl received the 2014 Rising Star Award from the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel (IDC), during the association’s 50th Annual Meeting last month in Chicago.

An IDC member since 2009, Wahl chaired the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) for 2013-2014. “In addition to hosting successful educational, social and philanthropic events, we also strengthened the YLD presence and dynamic between our division and the organization’s more seasoned attorneys,” says Wahl. “In doing so, participants gained valuable insight, incredible networking opportunities and lasting mentors for our personal and professional lives.”

IDC President Aleen Tiffany remarked, “Michelle exemplifies IDC’s Rising Star Award – she is tireless, creative, sharp, and hard-working. She is a born leader and a kind and caring person. I was personally impressed and thankful to Michelle for her many efforts and successes this year as the YLD Chair.”

At Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP, Wahl focuses her practice on Asbestos Litigation and Toxic Tort Litigation. She also has experience in Intellectual Property Litigation and Transactional Services, including working with clients in the entertainment industry. Ms. Wahl is a member of Lawyers for the Creative Arts, American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, Women's Bar Association of Illinois, Chicago Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association and Indianapolis Bar Association.

The IDC was organized in 1964 and has more than 1,000 members. The mission of the IDC is to ensure civil justice with integrity, civility and professional competence.
