Drumke Named Chair-Elect of ABA Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Partner Michael W. Drumke has been named Chair-Elect of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) of the American Bar Association (ABA) for 2013-2014.

His term began yesterday at the conclusion of ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco. Drumke will become TIPS Chair in August 2014 and will serve as TIPS Chair for a one-year term. With over 25,000 members and 32 general committees, TIPS unites plaintiff, defense, insurance and corporate counsel to advance the civil justice system in one of the ABA’s largest sections.

At Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP, Drumke focuses his practice on Toxic Tort Litigation, Product Liability, Class Action Defense, and Commercial Litigation and Business Disputes. He has represented clients in 20 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Drumke serves as trial counsel for a defendant named in asbestos-related litigation across the country. He has also served as national coordinating counsel for a manufacturer defendant in asbestos-related litigation and lead counsel for several premises owners named in toxic tort litigation in the Midwest. He is admitted to practice in Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Texas and Pennsylvania.

Drumke has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters for the past eight years in the areas of class actions and mass torts. He has also been recognized as a member of the Leading Lawyer Network in the areas of class action/mass tort defense, product liability defense and toxic tort defense for the past several years. Drumke received his J.D from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1991 and his B.A., cum laude, from Tufts University in 1988.
