Monaco and Henne to Present at 2023 AEM Product Safety & Compliance and Product Liability Seminar

Partners Anthony J. Monaco and Brett M. Henne will present at the 2023 Product Safety & Compliance and Product Liability Seminar, hosted by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), on April 24-27 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Monaco will present "Reasonable Risks? A Discussion of the Legal Concepts of "Defect," "Unreasonably Dangerous," and "Reasonably Safe for Intended Use." He will address how manufacturers can best minimize risk during the design and development stage, provide real-world examples, and offer some tips for best practices.  

While Henne will present "Product Liability: The Life of a Potential Fire Claim," where he will provide an in-depth guide on tackling your pending fire claim, which includes investigation techniques, identifying the right experts, preparation strategies, and practical ways to reduce litigation and minimize exposure if a suit or claim has been filed.

The three-day conference is designed to help gain valuable insights into the latest standards, regulations, and best practices in equipment manufacturing. There are over 30+ program sessions covering topics such as global product regulations, safety labeling, driving safety with technical communications, and more. AEM is an association that provides services on a global basis for companies that manufacture equipment, products, and services used worldwide in the following industries: Agriculture, Construction, Forestry, Mining, and Utility. Learn more about AEM here.

Anthony J. Monaco is an equity partner at Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP, and serves on the firm's management committee. He handles product liability, class-action, and commercial litigation disputes throughout the country. Anthony is regularly retained as lead trial counsel for mass-tort and MDL or other consolidated product liability matters. Brett M. Henne is a partner at Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP, and serves as the Chair of the Fire & Explosion Practice Group.  He focuses his practice on general litigation matters, fire and explosion, Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA), and medical negligence and healthcare, where he represents clients nationwide in medical device, product liability, premises liability, and third-party actions. A nationally recognized speaker on fire and explosion, Henne is also a trustee on the Grayslake Police Pension Board.
