Charles Moderates Panel for Chicago-Kent Equity Talks Series
Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP associate Rebecca Charles moderated a panel for Chicago-Kent College of Law's Equity Talks Series on "The Impact of Systemic Racism on the Health and Well-Being of Communities of Color" in late July.The Equity Talks Series brings together law students, lawyers and members of the community to discuss ways to dismantle systemic racism created by the law and other factors. In the second series of Equity Talks, panelists discussed health and healthcare inequities experienced by communities of color, particularly with respect to the impacts of COVID-19.
As moderator, Charles elicited ideas of how law students, lawyers and members of the community can become active in helping to dismantle systemic racism.
