Weiler Speaks at Appellate Lawyers Association Program on Remote Oral Arguments

Partner Catherine Basque Weiler will be part of a panel discussion on remote oral arguments in the Illinois Reviewing Courts, hosted by the Appellate Lawyers Association (ALA). 

The virtual luncheon program on Thursday, May 21 provides an opportunity to hear from the bench and bar on remote arguments in the Illinois reviewing courts. Along with Weiler, the panel will consist of Presiding Justice Joseph E. Birkett, Justice Ann B. Jorgensen, Justice Mary Schostok, Second District Clerk Jeffrey Kaplan and ALA Past President Hugh C. Griffin. ALA Past President Michael Scodro also will discuss his experience participating in a Zoom oral argument in the Illinois Supreme Court. 

Weiler serves as co-chair of the ALA's Cases Pending Committee. She chairs Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP's Appeals and Critical Motions Practice Group.
