Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Attorney Receives Patriotic Employer Award

The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a U.S. Department of Defense national committee, has honored Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Managing Partner Timothy G. Nickels with its Patriotic Employer Award. Employers qualify for recognition from the ESGR when they practice leadership and personnel policies that support employee participation in the Guard and Reserve.

Nickels was nominated by Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Associate Ewa Dabrowski, a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves who recently returned from a deployment at Joint Base Balad, Iraq. There CPT Dabrowski was a Judge Advocate, serving fellow Soldiers as Chief of Legal Assistance and Chief of Foreign Claims with the 103rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary).

“I think Swanson, Martin & Bell has been outstanding in accommodating my service,” says Dabrowski, who commissioned into the U.S. Army Reserves in 2007 while at Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP and spent six months going through basic Judge Advocate and Officer training prior to active duty. “I have worked with and helped many Soldiers whose employers fail to recognize how important their service is. I'm proud of the firm not just for its support of me but the general integrity with which it carries itself and felt it deserves to be recognized,” she said.

On behalf of the ESGR, Committee Member Terrence Benshoof presented Nickels with a framed plaque, currently on display in Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP’s reception area.

“We are grateful for the sacrifice that Ewa and so many other Soldiers have made and continue to make for our country,” said Nickels. “I am honored to be recognized and share this award with our entire firm.”
