Sheean Quoted in Chicago Tribune Article on Motorola Lawsuit
Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Partner Christopher T. Sheean was quoted in an article in today’s Chicago Tribune titled, “Motorola Solutions heads to federal court; restraining order at issue.”
Sheean addressed the legal entanglement between Motorola Solutions Inc. and Chinese telecommunications firm Huawei Technologies Co. regarding Motorola’s planned sale of its networks businesses. Huawei, who has commercial agreements for Motorola to sell its technology, seeks to stop the transaction to prevent the misappropriation of trade secrets.
"If (Huawei) can show (the sale) truly will destroy the competitive edge they've developed … they've got a genuine ability maybe not to stop the sale, but to force Motorola to piece it out differently," said Sheean in the article.
At Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP, Sheean practices in commercial and intellectual property litigation. He is chair of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group, as well as its Class Action Practice Group.
