Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Attorneys Support Investing in Justice Campaign
For the second consecutive year, Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP participated in the Chicago Bar Foundation’s Investing in Justice Campaign, which raises funds for pro bono and legal aid services in the Chicago area. Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP was one of more than 100 area law firms, corporate legal departments and law-related organizations to be involved in 2011.
This year, the firm set a goal of getting 50 percent of its attorneys to make a personal commitment to the campaign. As a kickoff event, Partners and Campaign Vice Chairs Tim Nickels and Peggy Byrne hosted a happy hour gathering for SMB attorneys at Public House in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. CBF Executive Director Robert Glaves and Director of Development David Gee attended and spoke briefly about the thousands of low-income and disadvantaged individuals who were helped as a result of the CBF’s previous campaigns.
Following the kickoff event and significant internal promotion, the firm is pleased to announce that 65 percent of its attorneys contributed to the campaign, totaling over $16,000 in donations. Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP hopes its support will aid the CBF and its 35 partner organizations in their efforts to provide legal assistance to those in need.
