Mark J. McLoughlin

Biography

Mark J. McLoughlin is an associate attorney in the firm's Chicago office. He specializes in Entertainment and Media Law and has experience with a variety of industry-specific contracts, such as recording agreements, producer agreements, and music management agreements. He has also assisted art collectives, large corporations, and individuals in commercial litigation and business disputes.

Mark is licensed as an attorney in both California and Illinois. His previous experiences include representing large insurance entities and a high-profile athlete in a matter concerning allegations of defamation and extortion, as well as Fortune 500 companies in a variety of intellectual property matters. Mark previously interned at CBS Television Distribution, where he analyzed litigation risks of the global exploitation of intellectual property in new-media/on-demand formats and worked alongside attorneys and producers on the set of shows such as Judge Judy and Inside Access. This exposure to entertainment contracts and transactions early in Mark's legal career has greatly assisted his development as an attorney in the industry.

Mark's interest in music and entertainment reaches beyond his role as a lawyer. While in law school, Mark sang with an Acapella group, the Michigan Law Headnotes, and in the rock band "TJ Hooper & the Learned Hands." Mark also performed as Northwestern University's mascot, "Willie the Wildcat," throughout his undergraduate years.
