Kelly M. Konzen

Biography

Kelly advocates for her clients in personal injury claims, business and contract disputes, and trial practice. She is skilled in all means of dispute resolution, including early settlement negotiations, dispositive motions, mediations, binding arbitrations, and bench trials, and has first-chaired 36 jury trials to verdict.

In one of Kelly’s most distinguished trials, she second-chaired a two-week jury trial in which she defended the interests of a masonry contractor in a breach of implied warranty of habitability construction defect claim. The plaintiff, a condominium association, claimed it sustained water intrusion in its multi-unit mixed use condominium as a result of the mason’s poor construction, and requested the jury award the association $3 million in damages, the largest request in an Illinois implied warranty of habitability jury trial recorded in Illinois based upon available jury verdict records. The jury returned a verdict in favor of Kelly’s client after 45 minutes of deliberation.
