Joseph focuses his practice on toxic tort litigation including asbestos litigation defense. He joined the firm as part of Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP’s merger with Kernell Law Firm in 2014. Prior to beginning his toxic tort practice, Joseph worked at an employment litigation firm in St. Louis, Missouri. There, his practice focused on litigation under the Fair Labor Standards Act -- including collective actions -- as well as general civil litigation including contracts, torts and domestic law. He took part in successful mediation and also represented nurses who received complaints against their license by the Missouri Board of Nursing.
While in law school, Joseph clerked at a medical malpractice law firm in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Gary Oxenhandler in Missouri’s 13th judicial circuit. His first legal experience came as an undergraduate when he interned for the civil litigation division of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia.
