Jack Gould is an associate at Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP. He concentrates his practice on defending premises, product liability, and contractor liability claims, primarily involving asbestos and toxic torts. Jack engages in all aspects of civil litigation, including extensive motion practice, fact and expert witness depositions, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations. Jack has secured voluntary dismissals and favorable resolutions for corporate defendants in numerous cases over his career.
Jack frequently interacts and coordinates with clients, in-house and national counsel, regarding case and litigation strategy. He also has a wealth of experience in drafting and responding to discovery requests, including working with clients to formulate answers and objections to achieve consistency with their past responses. Jack also has significant experience at the firm working on general litigation wrongful death cases as well as commercial, entertainment, and bankruptcy-related matters.
Prior to joining Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP, Jack worked at a boutique civil defense firm in Chicago for several years where he gained extensive experience litigating a large caseload of toxic tort cases for a major steel manufacturer as well as a chemical pipe manufacturer in numerous venues in Illinois. He has also engaged in criminal defense work, including trials.
