Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Celebrates 25th Anniversary, Continued Growth

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP began as a trial firm and that spirit remains entwined in the firm’s practice of law as it celebrates 25 years of business.

The firm, which spun off from Wildman, Harrold, Allen and Dixon in 1992, started with nine partners and has grown to 130 attorneys with six offices in Illinois, Indiana and Missouri. Crain’s Chicago Business magazine recently named Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP the 21st largest law firm in Illinois.

During its 25 years of operation, Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP has worked with clients ranging from Fortune 50 companies to emerging small businesses. While the firm initially focused on defending companies and individuals in tort and casualty matters, Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP has since expanded its practice to assist clients with litigation and related matters in commercial, real estate, toxic tort, environmental, employment, entertainment and intellectual property law.

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Managing Partner Timothy G. Nickels said, “As our mentor Max Wildman said, a trial lawyer and litigator is a problem solver. A lawsuit is a problem, and the goal is to solve the problem zealously, ethically, and efficiently in the client’s best interests. We are proud of the reputation the firm has earned in assisting clients requiring litigation and trial work.”

In recognition of its 25th anniversary year, Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP has made a monthly donation to a non-profit with whom the firm has a strong relationship. Recipients thus far include Christ the King Jesuit College Preparatory High School, American Cancer Society, University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation, Thumbuddy Special, Adult Down Syndrome Center, Families Helping Families, and Feed My Starving Children. The firm plans to continue these monthly efforts through the end of 2017, with donations totaling over $25,000. Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP has also hosted anniversary celebrations with its staff in June and will gather clients and friends of the firm in October.

“We are grateful to our attorneys, staff, clients and colleagues who have made our firm successful and have allowed us to provide legal services for the last quarter century,” said Nickels. “We look forward to the next 25 years.”
