McGovern, Wills Earn Appellate Victory in Legal Malpractice Case

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP partners Timothy S. McGovern and Daniel Wills represented three attorneys in a malpractice claim that failed in the 1st District Appellate Court over timing.  

According to the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, "an Illinois corporation and its overseas counterpart waited too long to sue their former attorneys for allegedly failing to inform them that they could have earned $1.2 million in a 2006 settlement, a state appeals panel ruled..."

The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin said the court found the statutes of limitations and repose had run out on the corporation's claim of legal malpractice and fraudulent concealment against the attorneys.
