Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Obtains Four Not Guilty Verdicts in 11 Days

In a span of 11 days in late October and early November 2014, Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP attorneys obtained four not guilty verdicts at trial on behalf of clients in four Medical Negligence and Healthcare cases.

The stretch began Friday, October 24th, when Partner Aiju C. Thevatheril and Associate Megan E. Schneider obtained a not guilty verdict in the Circuit Court of McHenry County, Ill. on behalf of client Centegra Hospital – McHenry.  The plaintiff asked for more than $7 million. 

Three days later on Wednesday, October 29th, Partner Joseph P. Switzer and Associate Sarah A. Ferrill received a not guilty verdict in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Ill. on behalf of their client, a neurologist in the Chicago area. The plaintiff asked for $10.35 million.

The month of October ended with a not guilty verdict for Kevin T. Martin, Of Counsel, and Associate Megan E. Donohue on Friday, October 31st, on behalf of their client, an orthopedic surgeon in the Circuit Court of Cook County. The plaintiff asked for $1.4 million.

The stretch concluded in the Circuit Court of Cook County on Tuesday, November 4th, when Partner Patricia S. Kocour and Associate Shera D. Wiegler obtained a not guilty verdict at the end of a five-week trial for client Loyola University Medical Center. The plaintiff asked for $7 million.
