Keating Receives Marist High School Alumni Award
Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Partner Richard J. Keating, Jr. received the Time and Eternity Award at Marist High School’s 2012 Alumni Reunion and Awards last month. The award is presented to alumni or friends of Marist who exemplify the Marist traditions of excellence professionally and/or in service.
A 1987 graduate of Marist, Keating has remained involved with his high school since graduation. He authored the bylaws of the school’s Hall of Fame Awards and has spent many years on the Hall of Fame selection committee. Keating also chaired one of Marist’s capital campaigns and is a member of the Marist Law Association.
Keating, who attended the ceremony and reunion with his wife, received a medal in commemoration of the award. Fellow Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP Partner and 1987 Marist graduate Ross W. Bartolotta was also in attendance, as were many other members of the Class of 1987 celebrating their 25-year reunion. Marist, a Roman Catholic coed high school located in Chicago’s Mount Greenwood neighborhood, bestowed two additional Time and Eternity Awards that evening along with Keating’s award.
At Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP, Keating represents clients in the retail, hospitality and healthcare industries in various types of tort liability litigation matters. He is a member of the Academy of Hospital Industry Attorneys, National Retail and Restaurant Defense Association, Defense Research Institute’s Retail and Hospitality Defense Subsection, and the Illinois Restaurant Association. Additionally, he serves a coach, General Counsel, and Director of Bylaws and Dispute Resolution for the Oz Park Baseball Association, and is a head basketball coach at Immaculate Conception Grade School.
